5 Things We Love About Cypress

Posted on Monday, October 10, 2022

If you want to love where you live, you want to make the move to Marvida. Why? We’re located in beautiful Cypress, Texas! There’s so much to do as well as great schools, convenient shopping and plenty of opportunities to get outdoors and have fun. Here are 5 reasons we love Cypress:

A Fabulous Location

Cypress is booming in part because of its fabulous location. You can hop on U.S. 290 and State Highway 249 for the 30-minute commute to downtown Houston. Cypress is 45 minutes from major employers along the Energy Corridor. Want to attend a concert at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands? Nothing easier! The Sam Houston Tollway and Grand Parkway can also get you pretty much anywhere else you want to go.

A+ Education

A first-class education starts with a first-class school district. Cypress Fairbanks ISD was the largest district in Texas to receive an “A” rating from the Texas Education Agency in 2022. Cy-Fair ISD serves 116,000 students across 92 campuses. It is the third-largest district in Texas and the 21st-largest in the United States. Despite its size, Cy-Fair ISD prides itself on giving students the personalized attention they need for future success. The district’s lauded College Academy partnership with Lone Star College allows students to receive both a high school diploma and an associate degree at the same time. Marvida students attend highly regarded Walker Elementary, Rowe Middle School and Cypress Park High School.

Small Town Vibes

Cypress may be growing, but it still feels like a small town. The people here are friendly and always willing to lend a hand. Annual festivals like A Taste of Cy-Fair and the CyWoods FFA Fall Festival & Crafts Show bring neighbors together to enjoy food, fun and a little shopping. Friday Night Lights are a big deal here with everyone coming out to cheer on their favorite team. The Berry Center is a premier sports and entertainment venue that hosts everything from blood drives and high school graduations to concerts and local theater productions.

Outdoor Adventuring

Whether you enjoy hiking, biking, bird watching or just picnicking, Cypress has got you covered with plenty of parks, playgrounds and wide-open green spaces. Little Cypress Preserve features 57 acres of interactive trails. The Cypress Creek Greenway is an ambitious project that seeks to preserve a natural corridor along Cypress Creek and develop a trail system to connect existing and future parks. Matzke Park is accessible to kids of all abilities. Bibi & Mini Me Bush Dog Park is the perfect place to spend the day with your furry Fido.

Convenient Shopping

Cypress offers more than 140 retail stores and restaurants, so you never have to go far to find what you need or get a great meal. Cypress Towne Center and Fairfield Town host big box stores such as Kohl’s, PetSmart, Best Buy and more. For discount designer duds, residents head to Houston Premium Outlets. It’s also easy to head to the Galleria for a girls’ day out.
