Looking for something exciting to do with your family this April? The Katherine Tyra Branch Library near Marvidahas a fantastic lineup of events for all ages. With programs designed to spark curiosity, encourage learning and connect the community, this month is packed with opportunities to make memories and have fun.

Preschool Story Time and Craft
10-11:15 a.m. Tuesdays
Ages 3-6

The perfect chance for little ones to develop important language and social skills while also sparking their imagination. After story time, children can participate in a creative craft activity, allowing them to express themselves through hands-on fun. Caregivers are encouraged to join in.

Play, Learn, Grow
1:30-2:45 p.m. Tuesdays
Ages 6 months to 3 years old

A program for babies, toddlers and their caregivers that focuses on play-based learning, bonding and early developmental activities. Registration is required due to limited spaces.

Toddler Story Time
10:30-11 a.m. Wednesdays
Ages 18 months – 3 years old

Little ones accompanied by their caregivers can participate in an engaging morning featuring interactive storytelling, lively songs, rhymes and playful learning activities.

Book Buddies
4-5:15 p.m. Wednesdays
Grades K-3

This program pairs young readers with adult volunteers for a supportive reading experience aimed at improving literacy skills and building confidence. Registration is required as spaces are limited.

Sunshine Baby Time
11:30 a.m.-noon Thursdays
Ages infant to 18 months

This program introduces little ones to stories, songs and activities while fostering early literacy and bonding.

Wagging Tales
10:30 – 11 a.m. Saturdays
All ages

Families are invited to join this program featuring Sawyer, a certified therapy dog, and his handler, Betsy. Together, they create a relaxing and fun story time for everyone.

Ancient Encounter: Knights and Castles
2-3 p.m. Saturday, April 26
Grades K-6

Kids and families can enjoy story-time, crafts, games and more, all themed around knights and castles. This event is presented in partnership with Archaeology Now, offering a creative way to explore history and culture.

Teen Tabletop RPGs
5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 29
Ages 13-18

A beginner-friendly introduction to tabletop role-playing games, it’s a chance to learn the basics, enjoy an exciting story and work together. Snacks will be provided, and no registration is needed — just drop in and join the adventure.
