When it comes to finding the right school for your child, choosing Cy-Fair ISD puts your student on the path to amazing, as the district’s motto states.
The district enrolls more than 118,000 students among its 96 campuses. Young residents of Marvida are currently zoned to attend Walker or Andre elementary schools, Rowe Middle School and Cypress Park High School, the latter two campuses of which are part of a multi-campus educational village right across the road from Marvida.
An experienced team of teachers and the district’s approximately 15 to 1 student-to-teacher ratio ensures each student is supported despite the district’s large size. The average CFISD teacher has 10.1 years of experience, and 62.8% of teachers had more than six years of teaching experience, according to data from the Texas Education Agency for the 2023-24 school year.
As part of the third largest school district in Texas, CFISD students have a wealth of learning and extracurricular opportunities. Plus, through CFISD’s Learning Together Everywhere program, CFISD gives every student a device to take home to support learning in and out of the classroom.
A wide variety of student programs are available. Incoming ninth grade students can apply to earn an associate’s degree alongside of their high school credits through competitive enrollment in The College Academy, a unique partnership with Lone Star College-Cy-Fair. Likewise, students wishing to instead obtain industry certifications and hands-on training can get plugged into a career and technical education program. The district offers nearly 70 industry certifications and 130-plus career-technical education courses in programs of study ranging from accounting and financial services to animal science, culinary, teaching, robotics and welding programs.
Cy-Fair ISD is also home to award-winning extracurricular programs, including fine arts and athletics. Its excellent athletics programs landed CFISD as the No. 2 best school district for athletes in the Houston area, according to recent Niche rankings.
The district also gets that safety is top of mind as a parent. As such, CFISD prioritizes your child’s safety by having its own police department. The Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Police Department is a 24/7 full-service law enforcement agency that assigns officers to all middle schools and high schools in the district. A mental health intervention team—made up of four licensed professional counselors, two licensed psychologists and two mental health police officers—was also created in the 2018-19 school year to more proactively deal with mental health issues in the district.
Recently, CFISD snagged Niche’s No. 2 spot for the best school district in Harris County out of 29 districts. Niche ranked CFISD in the top 5% of best school districts in America out of 10,000 districts, too.
Part of CFISD’s excellence is due to the outpouring of support from Cy-Fair’s diverse community. The district took the No. 9 spot for Niche’s most diverse school districts in Texas and was ranked No. 70 for most diverse school district in America out of more than 11,000 districts.
From its campus volunteers to its mentorship team, community involvement is at the core of CFISD. In the 2024-25 school year, 537 volunteer mentors from the community met with at-risk students throughout the district, for example.
As you can see, CFISD is a special place Marvida parents can feel good about. Find your new home today and choose to be on the path to amazing.
